Couch Potatoes

This is where I left you last:

And this is where we are now. Behold our new furniture baby!

We were aching for a new couch. In that big blank spot was a blue and white couch we inherited from Mike's parents--it was a great couch and provided many great naps, but it was showing its age. It was time for an upgrade!

We knew what we wanted for our new couch: we love double recliners and wanted something smaller for the space, but with enough seating for whenever friends come over. When we were visiting Kyle and Emily over the summer we fell in love with the leather loveseat they have in their living room. My favorite part was when they demonstrated how they reclined and held hands behind the back of the console.

Santa gave us some gift cards this year so we decided it was time to bite the bullet and shop for the couch. We made sure to MEASURE this time to avoid any mishaps like our previous attempt to upgrade. One store later, we found our beloved couch.

There was a little hesitation for a number of reasons:

1) Leather is not pet or kid-proof. Were we ready for the up-keep involved?
2) Our other couch is tan and this would be a big contrast in color.
3) It was admittedly a little pricey.

We went home and discussed. I love dark leather and Mike trusts my 'designer eye' so the color wasn't a problem. If we bought the very reasonable warranty it would protect against damages for 5 years and we would get store credit after that. And we had gift cards/Christmas money/wedding money so we wouldn't be paying out of pocket. We debated for about 5 minutes and the decision was made.

I love this couch so much. It's soft and only going to get softer. There is a space to store our remotes and a cup holder for my G&T's.

And yes, we tested it out and we can hold hands behind the console :)

In short, this couch is the perfect addition to our furniture family!
